Hello all! I hope you're all enjoying this community as much as I am.
Anyway, I'm wondering who is using shared storage for their Proxmox cluster. I've been doing it for about a month now and it's mostly been good. I'll admit this is an area I'm very weak in so any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
I have a 4-node PVE cluster in my home lab on a gigabit network. The four nodes are all connected to an old Cisco Catalyst 3560X switch that was given to me. The switch is then connected to my network where I have a mini PC with 4 network interfaces that I use for my pfSense router/firewall/DNS.
I recently started working in what has always been a vmWare ESXi shop and they use iSCSI storage for their servers.I've never tried shared storage but this gave me some confidence to give it a try.
I installed TrueNAS on an old computer I had laying around and set up iSCSI, though I'll admit I still don't firmly understand it. I was finally able to set up an NFS share to the iSCSI on PVE. There was probably a better way but I couldn't get anything else to work.
Sorry for the long long post, but I'm wondering if anyone else is doing something similar and what your experience has been.
