you got this!
THE EMPTY CHAIR TECHNIQUE
  • The empty chair technique, utilized in gestalt therapy, is a powerful tool for emotional release and self-expression.
Gestalt Therapy:
  • Gestalt therapy, originating in Germany, focuses on achieving wholeness by addressing past patterns and unresolved issues.
  • Often, our present interactions reflect these unresolved patterns until we confront and complete them.
The Process:
  • In the empty chair technique, you symbolically place a person in an empty chair and engage in dialogue, expressing thoughts and emotions you've held back.
  • Visualizing the person's presence can deepen the emotional connection and facilitate catharsis.
  • This process can lead to profound insights and a sense of clarity and freedom.
Post-Exercise Experience:
  • After engaging in the empty chair exercise, individuals often report feeling lighter, more confident, and even experience clearer dreams, indicating breakthroughs in personal growth.
Alternative Methods:
  • While the empty chair technique may feel intense for some, there are alternative methods for emotional release.
  • One approach is writing a letter to someone from your past, expressing your feelings and possibly letting go of lingering attachments.
  • This act can be incredibly liberating, even if the letter is never sent.
Ultimate Goal:
  • Whether through the empty chair technique or writing a letter, the goal is to release stagnant energy and facilitate personal growth and healing.
HOMEWORK
Understanding Attachment Patterns:
  • Recognize attachment to people as a reflection of familiar patterns.
  • Fear of letting go stems from associating worthiness with attachment.
  • Attachment may be to the pattern, not the specific person.
  • Realization of patterns leads to freedom and inner happiness.
Letting Go Process:
  • Write a letter to someone it's time to let go of, or use the empty chair technique.
  • Express feelings towards someone in the chair, even if not a significant figure.
  • Practice builds confidence in setting boundaries and letting go.
  • Optional: Burn, shred, or dispose of the letter.
  • Optional: Share breakthrough in the community under the category of High Vibe 101.
  • Transformation seen in past challenges; potential for feeling lighter and attracting positivity post-letting go.
