Your Database Is Worth More Than You Think (Here's The Math)
I wish someone had told me this in my first year of business:
For every person in your database that you actively nurture for a year, you can expect a specific dollar amount in revenue.
In real estate, that number is $1,000 per contact.
Let me break it down:
  • 200 contacts in your database
  • Actively reaching out and providing value (not just asking for sales)
  • By year end = $200,000 in revenue
But here's what most solopreneurs get wrong—they think "network" just means potential customers.
WRONG.
Your network includes:
✅ Direct consumers
✅ People who serve your ideal clients
✅ People who want to help you serve more people
Example: As a photography company, we didn't just target brides. We targeted wedding planners who had access to 100+ brides.
One connection = 100 potential clients.
Your Action Steps:
  1. Calculate your average sale price - What's your typical contract or product value?
  2. Count your real contacts - How many people do you actually engage with regularly?
  3. Do the math - If real estate is $1K per contact, what's YOUR multiplier based on your average sale?
  4. Get a CRM - Even if it's just a Google Sheet with: Name, Email, Phone, Profession, Birthday, Where You Met Them, Last Contact Date
  5. Work the list - Provide value. Check in. Show you care. Sales is service.
The Truth: Quality > Quantity
Vet your contacts. Not everyone deserves your energy. Ask people directly: "Would it be easier if I checked in monthly or just once a year?"
Let them tell you how they want to be nurtured.
Grant Cardone said it best: "I'll send 10 messages a week. If you're supposed to work with me, you'll love it. If not, you'll unsubscribe and help me clean my list."
Stop worrying about reaching out "too much." Worry about the quality and intention of what you're sharing.
