Just Post It
When it comes to writing online, I get caught up in the perfection mode. It keeps me from writing anything at all. So today, I’m vowing to “just post it!” I’ll be boring you with rants, raves and rambles but I seriously need to get out of my head and this is the only way to do it from what I can tell at the moment. So please, accept my sincere apology in advance for boring you with bad writing and all my many musings. Have a blessed day and I hope you stick around as I enter and sort through the many corridors of my brain. Until next time…Tootle-oo 😘

Mushroom Madness
My Ryze mushroom experiment is going well. I’ve been pretty consistent in drinking it daily. The creamer that came with it was tasty but not enough of it for a creamy coffee girl like me. However I just returned back to my delectable Dairy Gold 40% milkfat heavy whipping cream which is my absolute go to for richness. I only use a little bit so don’t you worry about all that fat and fluff about saturated fat. I love it and you would too! Anyway, what’s been most fun is my wooden spoon. The one that was sent with the box of goodies when my son sent me my first Ryze kit for my birthday. Is there a benefit to using wooden utensils because it sure feels cool? Like I’m connecting with the earth and such. Goofy, I know. But the quietness of stirring is definitely a bonus too as I try to stay still in the early morning hours so my kids will stay asleep just a few minutes longer. Today, everyone’s recovering from illness so I’m having an extra coffee break while the entire house is still asleep. The heavens declare the glory of quiet mornings!! The one problem will be me though when we get going, trying to keep my cool when the timer is ticking a bit too late for my liking. I wish I could be a little more sympathetic to these things. I love a good routine when I finally get one and then I get a little bent out of shape when a monkey wrench drops in and twists it up. Calm…calm…sick kids should allow for a little breath and pause. It’s ok, the work will get done. Please God, help me be patient. Anyway, back to the wooden spoon. What a simple little treat in my kitchen. It’s funny how one simple tool can add a touch of joy to a regular habit. Thanks, Ryze for the boost in the middle of the doldrums of winter! I might have to order more 🤩

What I Already Know
Gut health is important to life. The Gut brain axis is real. When I’m nervous I get an upset stomach. That’s a real observation I’ve witnessed over the years. What helps balance the gut? What’s the best way to replenish the good bacteria in your gut and rid the bad. How can we do this with real food. Supplements are helpful but not the first line of defense. Real food is expensive. Most effective, though. Eat less and more quality. Don’t eat all day, give your gut a break to actually digest. Stop eating three hours before bed. Stall your eating right away in the morning. I just do coffee and water until 10am. Some may harp on me about cortisol and stress from caffeine and the like. See what works for you. I might change this up over time but right now with busy family life, the morning coffee is a must. I already know that moving the body is good for digestion and clearing things out, stimulating the intestines. How’s the best way to clear the intestines on a regular basis? Magnesium citrate works pretty good for me. Is it too harsh? What other gentle ways may work for some? I haven’t found anything that works for me. But that’s just me. I’m a tense ol lady who needs to battle that inner German and North-woman heritage. We’ve always got ourselves in a bind of some sort. Coffee used to work but now I’m largely unfazed by it. I’m taking my turn with the mushroom coffee and have seen some results with that. Especially in the beginning. I’ll be increasing to 2 cups a day to see what that does. I chose Ryze brand and it really does taste good. The arabica bean coffee is delicious and its texture is nice as long as you keep stirring to mix the powder. If you neglect this step, you’ll end up with a pile of powder at the bottom and your final gulp will be a little chewy. Still not poor taste but a little mushy on the palette. I’ll be looking to make another order just so I can get a more full experience and give a review with substantial evidence from use. Have a great day! Tootle-oo 😘

Get Out and Get Well
As a stay-at-home, homeschool mom, I spend a lot of time at home. During winter months in the Pacific Northwest it can really start to feel like the walls are closing in. It’s funny because it really sneaks up on me and before Christmas arrives, I find myself in my own pit of doom. There’s no sun and it’s no fun!! The reality of it is that we have a lot of sun here and when it goes away for a couple months it feels very drastic. So it’s a good idea to remember that winter is not so bad if you embrace it. Get extra rest while you can but also get outside. Bundle up, buttercup and hit the trails or take it to the streets! “There is no bad weather, only bad clothing”- Norwegian Proverb Seriously, it’s the best feeling and such a mood boost. I’ve even recruited my husband and we’ve made it a goal of ours for 2026, to hike with honey 🥰 once a week! Some people consider it an activity for hobbyists or the young but getting out in nature and breathing fresh air is true healthcare. What do you do for your health and mental wellbeing? Share in the comments 😊 Cheers 🥂 To your health!!
