Every step counts. Making our way to 154 brings us to the element Samarium (Sm). This is no small feat! Sm has its main use in creating alloys with cobalt for headphones. While those magnets are small, they have a big impact on Skoolers, Goosifyans, and eXplorers as we all use such headphones for hearing each other online or listening to music. Interestingly, Samarium was the first element to be named after a person. It was discovered by Paul Γmile Lecoq de Boisbaudran in 1879 and takes its name from the mineral samarskite, which in turn was named after Russian mining engineer Vasili Samarsky-Bykhovets.
Maybe you also recall the good Samaritan on a day like today. We can be thankful for the helpful cooperation this thanksgiving day reminds us of. Thanks for helping the Pathfinders () as we find our way around this blitz.
