⭐ What It Really Takes to Get Good With Horses...
After all these years with horses, teaching horses, teaching people, making mistakes, learning, rebuilding, starting again - I honestly know now that getting good with horses comes down to a few main ingredients, including:
💗A good heart.
👂A genuine will to learn.
🤣A sense of humor
🪞Self-reflection.
👩‍🎓And the discipline to keep practicing and refining the art of what we’re learning.
Because horses will ALWAYS humble you where one moment you feel like you’ve figured something out and the next moment they’ll show you another layer you didn’t even realize existed.
That’s why ego struggles so much around horses, but curiosity thrives so if you can laugh sometimes, reflect honestly, keep your heart in the right place, and stay committed to learning instead of proving - you’ll go much further than you think. It will be much more fun too.
❓Which ingredient's do you naturally have, and which one's challenges you most?
For fun - bonus points:
❓I 've been fortunate to study and work alongside many great horse people - do you recognize any of the teachers/trainers in this pic out of the old box?
