🐓 What Did You STOP Doing That Made Your Horsemanship Better?
We’re always talking about what we need to add. More relaxation. More confidence. More consistency. More suppleness. More exposure. But here’s the twist… What’s one thing you stopped doing that actually improved your horse? Sometimes progress doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from removing pressure, ego, tension, or overthinking. So tell me šŸ‘‡ What did you STOP doing…that changed something? Love ZoĆ« 🐓✨🫶

Ooh I love all these thought provoking questions. Hmm I think I stopped following blindly what others were doing and started to question the why. I also am someone who is very in my own head- I am an introvert but my mind is buzzing constantly and I have had to learn to quiet all that internal chatter and just ā€˜be’ around the horses and this has been so hard but so valuable too. 😊

@Cheg Darlington it took me sooo long to ā€˜get’ this one, like years 🤭
When to introduce a new subject
Hi Zoe, this morning i was doing hq, forehand yields and back ups with zeus using my hands. When i rub him all over he seems relaxed, but as soon as I apply pressure he starts bracing and nipping. I have no introduced the block which helps but also doesn’t really tell him to back off yet. As you know we have recently done the yields with the stick and some rhythmic pressure. Now i am just wondering, should i keep at these exercises until he softens before i move on, or do i start peppering in some other exercises in the meantime. Not sure if he is telling me if he is bored of the same conversation over and over again, or does he truly not understand yet what yielding to pressure means?

...big or small, they count šŸ˜ Before we head into next week…what went well this week? Not perfect. Not Instagram-worthy. Just…progress. Drop one win from this week - something you’re proud of, even if no one else saw it. Let’s celebrate 🤩🐓✨🫶
