That is so sweet!
Just one day left
Maybe I'm exaggerating but tomorrow Summer wil be moved to my stable close to home. And a barley slept last night. I'm so excited and scared at the same time. Besides of you all and Zoë I do have no one on my stable that can help. (In working with him because they think differently and that is fine ofcourse). Scared that he maybe freak out. Scared that he won't make friends. My brain is starting to get down that rabbit hole. Anyone ideas to stop my brain of frying itself? Am I the only one who panics at these moments? 🫣

Focus on the excitement! I’m honestly so jealous—as someone who has to make a 2-hour round trip just to see Ssemi on weekends, having your horse that close is a total dream. It’s going to be amazing! Can't wait for the update and some photos. Best of luck!

@Kimberly Nogueira 5 minutes from home and 15 from work? That’s the ultimate dream! Thanks for the kind words about Ssemi, too. It’s really touching to hear Kenzi’s legacy lives on through this new spot. Wishing you and Summer a very smooth first day!
🐴 GET GOOD HORSEMANSHIP TIP 29.
✨Getting good with horses comes at a cost. Not just a financial one, but also a personal one. Because real horsemanship asks more of you than just showing up, it asks you to grow. It costs you: - your ego - when things don’t go the way you expected - your comfort - when you realize you need to change, not the horse - your patience - when progress is slower than you’d like - your habits - when what you’ve always done no longer fits - your certainty - when you start questioning what you thought you knew - your time - because rushing no longer feels right And sometimes it costs you the version of yourself that just wanted it to be easy. But what you gain is so much more including greater clarity, connection, trust, and a horse that can truly understand you. So my tip is simply knowing all of the above and being okay with it. ❓Question: What are you willing to Get Good at letting go of to become better for your horse? Zoë🐴✨🫶

For me, it’s definitely my "Friday night party routine"! My friends keep asking if I’ve quit drinking, but I’ve happily traded the nightlife for early mornings with Ssemi. Since we only have weekends together, I want to give her my best energy, not a hangover. Best trade-off ever!
Introduction
Hi, i'm Karin and i live in the Netherlands. I've got 4 horses, 1 carriage horse of 26 years old (she is retired, because of osteoarthritis and almost blind), 1 Shetland pony of 31 years old, 1 Haflinger of 3 years old (with whom I have just started groundwork) and 1 Haflinger of 1 year old. They are all at my home in a browsing paddock. I hope I can learn more here to give my young horses a confident foundation.

@Karin Verbeek Welcome! Managing four horses at home—from your seniors to the youngsters—is so impressive. Looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful herd!

Today was Sums last groundwork lesson. This time we started with asking him to go on a circle on a leadrope. This one was a little harder for him. The right side he did understand it quickly but the left side was an whole other level. Eventually he got it and I'm a very proud mom. We did go for lifting up the feet again (and it is getting better and better😊) so I could clean them. And we measured him, he is 142cm right now and he will turn 2 on the 20th of july. So I really do hope he will grow alot❤️🫣. (Counting the days!!! 4 to go) I discovered that everytime Sum finds something hard to do he will jump or rear a bit. (Not angry). Hope I can change that in him. That their's another way to show me he does find something hard or doesn't understand

It’s so true—one side is a total breeze, while the other feels like a complete puzzle! It’s fascinating how they have a 'favorite' side. Zoë’s advice about being consistent and not worrying really hit home for me.
