Engaging with the Nose Question?

There's an ex-racehorse where I keep Ronnie who's a bit of a quirky guy.

This weekend he came over to hang out with me and another horse who'd also chosen to be close to me. (Yes, horses are starting to like me since my energy around them got better!)

Ronnie was off grazing, watching me, always, but content to just observe - huge progress from him being all manic and possessive over me!

I was doing my magic breathing and both horses had their heads low and eyes soft, soaking it in.

After a while, the ex-racehorse offered me his nose so I put my hand out and he was rubbing it all over, manipulating the end of his nose into funny shapes while he rubbed.

When he was done he yawned a few times and then ambled off.

I just wondered what this behaviour might have meant?

Ronnie's done it to me when I've been grooming or scratching him but I wasn't touching the ex-racer at all, just breathing with him.
