🐎 Loyalty Goes Both Ways…
✨ The horses are already so very loyal, so I believe it is our obligation to simply be loyal back. It’s something I talk about and share a lot. Because horses don’t wake up each day questioning whether they’ll show up for us. They don’t hold grudges in the way we do. They try simply again and again…even when they don’t fully understand, even when things feel hard. That kind of loyalty is quiet, but it’s powerful. And I believe it asks something of us in return. Not perfection. Not getting everything right every time. . Just a genuine effort to understand them, not just use them. 👉 Loyalty to me means… ▪️Showing up with even on the days it would be easier not to. ▪️Taking the time to explain, instead of rushing through. ▪️Listening when something feels off, instead of pushing past it. ▪️Thinking long-term and not just about today. Because they give us their trust so freely. The least we can do, is become someone worthy of it. ❓ Share here, I love to read - what ways you are showing loyalty back to your horse right now? 🐴✨🫶

I am really focused on improving language and leadership at the moment. Not sure if this fits in with the theme of showing loyalty, but i have realised that if we want our horses to change we need to change first 🐴💫

🐎 Week 16 - 2026
Weekly Wins, a day late from Africa 😅🌍🐴 I forgot yesterday 🙈 But in my defence, here in Africa time feels a little different. So let’s do it now 👇 What’s been your win or wins this week? What’s one thing you’re starting to get good and what’s one thing you’re going to begin next? Let’s hear it - wins and next steps. I’ll be reading from Namibia with a big smile on my face! 😃🐴✨🫶

Zeus picked up his feet for the farrier without any hassles, 6 weeks ago we had to give him a mild sedative, and this time he was ready 🥳 Bronco and Zazu is starting to respond with lightness to my leg aids and also slowly but surely bending around the inside leg Baby steps but getting there under saddle 💪🏼
🐎 Week 15 - 2026
✨Share something that felt better this week… ▪️Maybe your horse stayed with you a bit longer? ▪️Maybe something finally clicked? ▪️Maybe you handled a moment differently than you would’ve before? ▪️Maybe you just showed up when it would’ve been easier not to? That all counts and love for you to share… 🐴✨🫶

@Cheg Darlington amazing!! Just shows you how far you actually come when you slow things down, and just focus on being totally present 🤗🐴

@Hyuck June Kang what you are doing with Ssemi right now is what is important. The more you become her safe space the more you will find that connection and everything will unfold naturally 🤗
Finding Connection & Building Confidence
This year - at 37 years old - I bought my first horse. There was this ad on a Whatsapp group begging for a new home for Blackie. I had zero experience with horses and my knowledge stretched to knowing that they had 4 legs and a tail. We went out to the plot where Blackie stood and immediately he came to my daughters (aged 8 and 4) - he nuzzled them and had the softest eyes. Of course I had to give him a new home - or else he would be shipped of as a donkeycart horse. For the first time in his life I put him in stables, he had his hooves done, he had a physio checking on him and people who came to him everyday. I traced back Blackie's history and discovered that my sister-in-law (who was brutally murdered 6 years ago) first bought him. After her death he was shipped to 3 different homes and was left to his own devices. Everything is new to both him and me. We have seen that even though he is a big boy (16hh TB) he has very little confidence and he depends a lot on his humans to lead him (he doesn't leave any space bubbles and doesn't venture away from you when on lead). I want to be able to build both his confidence and build deep connection with me. With my VERY limited knowledge I want to be able to read him and understand what he needs from me. But also I want him to understand me and find that balance.

What an incredible story! When my 4 horses found me i also didn’t know anything apart from getting on an trying your best to stay on. But something told me there is more and that is how i found Zoe. Focus on connection, building trust and partnership and the rest will start to unfold naturally. One thing horsemanship taught me so far is that you have to believe in yourself so that they can believe in you too. This is the most beautiful journey that you can ever wish to be on, so embrace every step of the way…and we are all here to support and encourage on the good days…as well as the not so good days 💕🫶🏻🤩
✈️ I’m Heading Off Tomorrow… But You Keep Going...
✨ Tomorrow afternoon I’ll be heading off returning home 28 April 2026. I’ll try to pop in here when I can…but I’m not quite sure how much that will be just yet. So while I’m away, I’d really love this space to stay alive, supportive, and moving forward - not just waiting for me to come back. ☺️ ❓So tell me… What are your plans, goals and dreams you plan on working on over the next 3 weeks? What are you getting stuck into with your horse? And while you’re working through things, if anything comes up that you need help with, drop it in the comments like usual, support each other where you can, share your wins, your questions, your “not quite sure about this” moments…and I’ll come in and respond as soon as I can too. This is your space and I'm grateful to each and every one of you. Wishing you much love and success and a virtual kiss on the silky nose of your horses from me. 😘🐴✨🫶

For the next 2 weeks i really want to establish lightness in my riding aids with Bronco and Zazu and perhaps introduce 1 or 2 groundwork exercises. With Bronco i also have to start going to a longer line, which is super tricky 🙈 Zeus and Lulu i am also moving onto 2 new groundwork exercises. Here the 2+1 rule will really come in handy My 3rd week i will be spending with @Zoë Coade FINALLY THE WAIT IS OVER 🥳🫶🏻
