🐴 What Did You STOP Doing That Made Your Horsemanship Better?
We’re always talking about what we need to add. More relaxation. More confidence. More consistency. More suppleness. More exposure. But here’s the twist… What’s one thing you stopped doing that actually improved your horse? Sometimes progress doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from removing pressure, ego, tension, or overthinking. So tell me 👇 What did you STOP doing…that changed something? Love Zoë 🐴✨🫶

I stopped expecting too much from myself and of them. I’ve always been a very high achiever, and always pushing progress and making things happen coming from the business world. I quickly realised with horses there is no place for that, and every day i just start with…. What am i capable of doing? And what are they capable of giving me? And yes @Cheg Darlington also becoming quieter. I’ve noticed the quitier i got the more present i became 🫶🏻
🌙 Saturday Night Fun: What Are Your Horse’s Nicknames?
🤩 Tell me… Do you have nicknames for your horses? I’ll go first: Lenny also known as: • Lenny the Licker • Bubbles • Lennykins • My King Benjamin is also known as: • Mr Floof • Unicorn • Bennykins • My Prince • Back-breaker (because he's so small 😅) Your turn 👇 Drop the names, the sillier the better. 🤣 🐴✨🫶

Bronco is Bronx and sometimes “boude”…referring to his round hiney (in afrikaans of course) 🫣 Zazu is my nu-nu (because she is a girl 🥰) and also lady jane or queen bee, Zeus is most of the time Zeusy and Lulu is Lucy Lu or Pony because she is so small
Week 8 - 2026...
...big or small, they count 😍 Before we head into next week…what went well this week? Not perfect. Not Instagram-worthy. Just…progress. Drop one win from this week - something you’re proud of, even if no one else saw it. Let’s celebrate 🤩🐴✨🫶

My win for the week was when i led Zeus out to turnout this morning. I always walk a zig zag, do a few back ups and shoulder yields on our way so that he doesn’t get too excited when we get to the gate and he just wants to pull away and run off…the lesson is, freedom awaits when we are collected and organised. We did the whole routine without him trying to invade my space or push me around this morning, so that was a major win for me 🥳
🤩 Update from my end...
...so…the last four days I committed 10 hours a day to building the new Get Good With Horses Skool in here. I’ll be honest - I hoped I’d have it finished by now and I’m “only” about ¾ of the way through. Slightly disappointed… but also very proud. 🥰 Because alongside that, I’ve still taken care of my boys, walked the dog as many times as she demanded, and made it to the gym twice at sunrise. So yes, am a bit tired 😅 Husband? What husband...lol! But, it’s looking beautiful. And instead of just transferring everything from the old platform, I’m refining it. Improving it. Tightening it. The structure feels stronger, clearer. Love it! I’ve set aside two more full days next week to finish it, so watch this space for the release. Right now it’s four classrooms, properly organised and packed with everything you need to get good with horses. And going through five years of my own work? I’m genuinely in awe of what’s been created. It’s a lot. Tomorrow I’m back to normal life: gym at 06:30, first lesson at 09:30, horses, and then dinner with friends in Amsterdam in the evening. 🍻 So I’ll be taking a proper night off from this very dear, special community. Will check-in here the afternoon then first thing Saturday for our Weekly Wins. Much love, Zoë 🐴✨🫶

Enjoy the night off @Zoë Coade you definitely deserve it! Thank you for putting in all the hours over the years and now some more to make our learning experience even more amazing 💕🤗
When to introduce a new subject
Hi Zoe, this morning i was doing hq, forehand yields and back ups with zeus using my hands. When i rub him all over he seems relaxed, but as soon as I apply pressure he starts bracing and nipping. I have no introduced the block which helps but also doesn’t really tell him to back off yet. As you know we have recently done the yields with the stick and some rhythmic pressure. Now i am just wondering, should i keep at these exercises until he softens before i move on, or do i start peppering in some other exercises in the meantime. Not sure if he is telling me if he is bored of the same conversation over and over again, or does he truly not understand yet what yielding to pressure means?

Just and update, this morning went exceptionally well. No blocking or pushiness, as soon as i saw him even thinking of bringing his nose towards me, i stopped, calmly cleared my space with the rope, and them proceeded with the lesson. I definitely saw a huge improvement on his demeanor at the end. And also his attitude towards me. Even got him out on the circle without any resistance Thank you Zoe, your guidance and everybody’s support means the world to me 💕
