Preparing for the dentist!!
I guess my other anxiety as I do not ride anymore...is managing the dentist! I think I get so anxious ( do not know why) before they come. Both mine are sedated. Little one has not had a bit in yet too so dentist struggles to open his mouth. So... I will be planning for spring dental visit, to improve on this! Work on my anxiety levels, work on little one opening mouth and creating a pleasant environment prior...Does anyone else get anxious over the dentist???? Any helpful advice/ideas gladly appreciated ☺️✅🤠
17 Jan - Community Activity - Grateful ☺️
Dear friends, I love the activity in here today - it’s amazing to see! Also because the community is still young 🤩 I’ve just got home after spending the day with my father-in-law, helping him turn his book into an official publication 😃 So I haven’t had much time to be in here today, but I’ll check in tomorrow morning and respond to your posts first thing. Thank you for already being such a great community, and I wish you a lovely rest of the day or a good night’s sleep, wherever you are. Zoë 🐴✨🫶

Worming!!!
After years of horse managing I still find worming the most hardest task! I have tried everything ( or have I!😂) My horses know I have it!!! They sense it hiding in my back pocket lol 🤣 I have tried generally holding them and giving but end up either losing half of it/ heads rearing/or them running off. They mirror each other so once one pony susses on the other will pick up!! I have tried apple sauce in syringes with rewards to try and teach them to accept the wormer...did not work 😟 I have mixed with food but they stamp on it so I am worried the wormer does not reach where needed...So please, if you know of the simplest way of worming let me know... 🐴🤠
Working on leadchanges and transion to trott
We are working on leadchanges and transion to trott. At the moment I can't get him into trott when he is next to me. Any advises how I can approach this? He is also a little rude with his head towards the food during changes. What do you think is more important, waiting until he is polite or rewarding the change?

Resetting my nervous system and becoming a confident leader
Hi zoe, afer my little collision with Zeus I realize my nervous system when Ian around him is all over the place and as a result he also tenses up.this morning as I was leading him to the open pasture for weekend break he acted up again. As me approach the gates I feel myself tensing up because I am not sure now he will react And then as we walk through the posts or gate ne starts reacting. This morning he was trying to nip me again, bracing and jumping around as if he is trying to get away from me or he can just be very excited to get out In the open again Whatever it is, i do realise horses mirror your energy so i think i have to use this as feedback and try and improve myself before i can do anything for him So my question is, how do reset my nervous system so that i can become the calm confident leader he needs me to be and then what can i do for him to create more awareness and calm in his own body and mind I am sure i am not the first or last person that is going through such an experience and i do believe its these type of experience that help as grow and evolve into the strong and assertive horsewomen/we men we aspire to become Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this
