🧼 🫧 Sheath & Udder Hygiene…
✨ Hey Get Gooders, something I think that doesn’t get talked about or taught enough is the importance of sheath and udder hygiene as part of whole-horse care. This isn’t just about cleanliness. 👉 When geldings develop beans or heavy buildup, it can: • cause discomfort or pain • change posture and movement • contribute to tension patterns • and in some cases even show up as lameness or behavioural changes ⚠️ Mares are no exception - udder sensitivity and hygiene matter just as much. Especially if they are breeding. We also shouldn’t forget the back end - for both boys and girls. This includes being comfortable with a gentle sponge wipe, taking a temperature when needed, and for mares, having their privates cleaned when required. What I want to gently but clearly say is this: 👉 It IS possible for all horses to be comfortable being touched everywhere. The only reason it often isn’t, is because they haven’t been shown how to feel safe, confident, and understood in those moments. Basically the way I see it is that all body parts should be tamed. Not just the parts we need to lead and ride. I’ll be releasing a way of teaching this soon in my Heart in Your Hand - Body Awareness Scan . It will be available: • as a level unlock, • as a one-time purchase, • and as part of a full course of relatable subjects inside the Get Good With Horses Skool when it is launched. The attached video is for fun filmed yesterday! Lenny the Kid has no issues with this kind of handling because I started early, back when he was a yearling. Weanlings and young horses generally accept these things quite easily, but given time and different experiences, they can become more protective and tense - especially geldings who may carry tension or trauma from castration. How comfortable is your horse with being touched everywhere on their body - and where do you notice the most sensitivity? Or another way of saying it is: If your horse could choose one area of their body to feel more comfortable being touched, where would it be?

@Cheg Darlington I’m honestly loving the teamwork in your household - “it’s a guy thing” and he just… got on with it 😅 goals. And I appreciate the clarification that he doesn’t only get assigned the squishy bits. 🤣 🐴✨🫶

Preparing for the dentist!!
I guess my other anxiety as I do not ride anymore...is managing the dentist! I think I get so anxious ( do not know why) before they come. Both mine are sedated. Little one has not had a bit in yet too so dentist struggles to open his mouth. So... I will be planning for spring dental visit, to improve on this! Work on my anxiety levels, work on little one opening mouth and creating a pleasant environment prior...Does anyone else get anxious over the dentist???? Any helpful advice/ideas gladly appreciated ☺️✅🤠

@Reiki Ranch 🫶 You’re definitely not alone - dentist, farrier or other care professional visits trigger anxiety for so many people, even very experienced horse owners. Although many will never admit it.🫣 It’s one of those moments where things feel out of our control, and horses pick up on that instantly. What I really like here is that you’re already thinking ahead: planning for spring, working on your own regulation, helping the youngster get comfortable with mouth handling, and setting the scene calmly before the dentist arrives. That’s exactly the right direction. I find over preparation prevents higher elevations of stress - for everyone. Small, low-pressure practice sessions with the mouth, paired with your own grounding, can make a huge difference over time. And remember - sedation is there to help everyone, including you. Thank you for sharing this so openly. These are the kinds of conversations that help others feel less alone too. 🐴✨🫶

@Abby Bennett Can we please clone him and place one of him in every country around the world? I think we’d solve about 90% of horse dentistry stress overnight! Jokes aside, that ethos is really special. You can feel when someone truly understands horses, and it sounds like you’ve found a rare gem. 🐴✨🫶
Hello Everyone 💜
Hello all! I'm Crystal in northern NH, USA. I am a social media manager for an TERRA Equine Therapy Center almost 2 years. I do not own any horses. I am growing and learning through the herd of 14 at TERRA. 🐴 I am a beginner with horses and have not even ridden. I have a huge fear block around getting on bc I fell hard the first time I tried. I am an animal communictor and am learning so much about the horses and myself. 🐴 i came across this class from her Coë instaq account. I love the posts! 🐴 I am currently, always, working on my connection with these Beings. I am here to learn more about them so I can understand them better.

@Reiki Ranch I love that - awesome 😍 You’ll be pleased to know the meditations will be available later today, so keep an eye on the announcements. They’re designed exactly for things like those horse-related anxieties to help you ground and stay present. I think they’ll fit beautifully alongside your crystal practice. I have a collection too, you like to see? 🐴✨🫶
