My podcast episodes are short, 10-15 minutes, and come out twice a week, on YT and podcast platforms. I batch the episodes, and there's a lot involved, but it makes it so much easier. Here are a few things I do that might help you streamline your process:
- Have a google doc with all of your episodes listed. Mine includes: date published, and a check box for every step: recording, editing, exporting, uploading, writing the description, creating the thumbnail, writing the title, creating the pretty link and adding the podcast player to my blog post, scheduling the episode.
- Putting more effort into titles and descriptions pays off, especially for YT reach. Before I record, I think about my thumbnail image, write out a hook that comes before my podcast intro to grab the listener's attention, and decide on a title.
- Split test thumbnails!
- Batching can be tiring! I can do 4-5 episodes a day right now. I record everything one day, and the next day I do all the rest of the processing.
What process works for you with getting your episodes out regularly?
