Lessons from batching - what's your process?
My podcast episodes are short, 10-15 minutes, and come out twice a week, on YT and podcast platforms. I batch the episodes, and there's a lot involved, but it makes it so much easier. Here are a few things I do that might help you streamline your process: 1. Have a google doc with all of your episodes listed. Mine includes: date published, and a check box for every step: recording, editing, exporting, uploading, writing the description, creating the thumbnail, writing the title, creating the pretty link and adding the podcast player to my blog post, scheduling the episode. 2. Putting more effort into titles and descriptions pays off, especially for YT reach. Before I record, I think about my thumbnail image, write out a hook that comes before my podcast intro to grab the listener's attention, and decide on a title. 3. Split test thumbnails! 4. Batching can be tiring! I can do 4-5 episodes a day right now. I record everything one day, and the next day I do all the rest of the processing. What process works for you with getting your episodes out regularly?
