Christ Conciousness

So I was thinking, there are times I feel Christ Conciousness flowing through me. Its wonderful. Your very present, relax, and just generally happy/joyful. Then there are these down days. Heavy density that must be lifted. But the question is like why? Why when you feel in the elevated state, flow in the elevated state, treat others in an elevated state, you get the idea, everything flows at a higher vibration, Why must i keep clearing all that heavy density? I mean I get it. But if we can operate at higher states why do we have to keep clearing the lower states?
