Although I'm old, I still have much to learn. I have a pack of dogs, which makes growing fruit and veg a bit challenging. To stop them from eating what I grow I invested in two quite large "chicken cages" and I can grow a reasonable amount of food in there. I also have a greenhouse and a conservatory. I have citrus trees in the conservatory which are currently fruiting, - lemon, lime and oranges. Last year I invested in some mason bees (along with their own house) so they could pollinate my 100 year old apple tree. They did a really good job and their offspring are currently hibernating in a cardboard box in the fridge, waiting for the weather to warm up. This year I'm going for some ladybirds, along with a house for them, to try and keep the bloody aphids off my beans! I compost everything and collect gallons of rainwater. Still making lots of mistakes with the veg growing though, so looking forward to getting some tips.
