Geodesic Half-Dome construction for outbuildings
I'm thinking about putting up a geodesic half-dome in my backyard to use as a greenhouse. All one needs to do this is 24 rigid beams (such as 2x4s) all the same length, and 11 vertex connectors that each link 5 of these beams together. There are products out there, such as the Magidome® Geodesic Dome Connector kit. But, thinking along a Zombie Tech build, I'm wondering how one might create connectors from stuff that one would normally have on hand. Such as cardboard! Remember the video I shared awhile on making cardboard furniture? I'll share it again here. I'm thinking that cardboard might be an ideal material to handle this task. What about using papercrete? Check out the discussion that starts at 5:30 on the video. What do you think?
