One of our lovely members, @Lizzie Cooke, has kindly given me permission to sharethe situation she currently finds herself in. The big raging fires in Almería, Spain, are not far from where her community and friends live. The latest news from her is encouraging. She and her friends are safe, the fire is moving north, and the wind is expected to calm overnight. We're all hoping that continues. If it feels right to you, perhaps you could hold Lizzie, everyone affected, the emergency services, the families who have lost loved ones, the animals and wildlife, and Gaia herself in your thoughts or prayers today. When the seven stars of the Matariki cluster (the Pleades) rise in the Midwinter sky, is when New Year is celebrated in New Zealand. We are so cool down here that we have an actual astronomically/ astrologically timed New Years festival. And I made a cake. Will freaking wonders never cease?
