Question:
When I go back into a 1st degree connection and I see a message from me to him from a long time ago is there a hack for removing that previous message from me to him without that person knowing I've done so?
Answer:
If you send someone a message on LinkedIn there is a limited window to change the message or delete it. Right when you send a message for the next 60 minutes you have an edit button and a delete button next to it.
Once that time passes you cannot make changes to the conversation.
If you did choose to edit the message, the message will have a label that says edited. If you decide to delete the message, the message can’t be retrieved. The message is removed for all participants. A note that says This message has been deleted appears in the conversation.
If you want to start a new thread with a connection you can send a message via SALES NAVIGATOR and the connection will not see the message history from the organic message you sent them. This is a clever way of messaging someone with a new thread.
If you block a connection they will still see the message but they will not see your name next to the message, they will just see LINKEDIN MEMBER.
You have options, but they are limited. Thank you!
