Day 148: Horsing Around
Kashi has probably gotten the most attention from me today. I'm keeping up with regular bodywork but we tried out two of Simon Cocozza's Core Release exercises in the arena today and they worked really well. Great stretching in both directions on a volte in walk. I noticed it took a few goes for her to release her core and maintain the stretch in the change of direction - some resistance there, especially going from left to right. Her eyes went so soft and blinky when she got into the stretch, we got very low at one point and I could see it was very relaxing for her. Her stride opened out with the repetition and we also did this in trot. I was surprised how loose the trot was too as normally it takes her a while to work through stiffness. We also walked a pattern with turns on the forehand both ways. We did the two bowls game again for her dinner and she's really getting it now! I managed to capture it but I've sped it up a bit as it's very slo mo compared to dog training 😂
Had a lovely walk up at Sourton Tors again this afternoon with all 3 and they were all excellently behaved. They all did some SAT training with the shaker for their dinner too. Skye has definitely improved!
