What are your 2026 Goals?
Do you have any goals for 2026? Or, maybe it's more like a bucket-list... just stuff you'd like to do. What comes to mind?

Long term goal, to take Leto for walks in woods and over the South Downs without worrying about deer!

@Lynne Willmott impressed.
Weekend Off-Topic
First weekend of 2026. So are we discussing Stranger Things? I lost my car keys this morning. We looked for them for two hours before admitting defeat. I had to call out a locksmith which was very expensive 🤦‍♂️

@Nick Benger have you looked in the fridge? I read somewhere it’s where lost things go!! Coincidentally I’ve listed my treat bag, totally vanished somewhere in the house but I thought that was just because I’m old!! You don’t have that excuse.

@Susan Hoppe how fab to live somewhere that you could worry about getting lost in a huge forest.
How Are You Spending NY?
Partying hard or staying at home with the dogs? We're watching Lord of the Rings 😂 Got some really great truffle detection training in with Onyx and @Maarja Heinsoo today too. Also explored a new woods with Lupe and found a really beautiful walk.

I do like the new ones, we watched them both last year and I know they are more like the books, but I do like the drama and soundtrack of the 1984 one. Plus Kyle McLaughlin is better looking than Timothy Chamalet and it’s got Patrick Stewart in it and Sting.

@Lauren Edwards hope she got them.
Result!!! So proud of Leto
On yesterday’s walk, Leto and I were playing a focus game while he was on his long line when I heard shouting and a big black lab was charging towards him growling. I had a moment of pure panic but Leto turned to face it without a sound and just glared, which stopped it running but still growling. It gave me time to encourage Leto to come away a bit but he was understandably reluctant to turn his back on it and walk away so I asked for middle. He did it (phew) so we just stood there while the owner took quite a long time getting his dog to come away and be put on the lead. A bit more playing and off we went with Leto totally relaxed. Not so long ago it would have been a very different outcome as I would have really struggled to stop Leto going into full defensive mode and fighting back.

@Nick Benger indeed. I was shaken but so proud of Leto. Just shows we’re both learning things and I must trust him more to do the right thing.

@Holly Pearson I was really shocked that Leto did it to be honest. And relieved. Shows it’s worth keeping going!

Live with husband and 4 yr old Dobermann, Leto. Leto and I trained with Nick when we lived in Bristol but retired and moved away. Good to reconnect.
