It was reported from Umar ibn al-Khattab:
“إني لأكره أن أرى أحدكم سبهللاً، لا في عمل دنيا ولا في عمل آخرة.” I truly hate a person who is idle, doing no work for this world nor for the Hereafter.”
It really made me sit and think.
How much time do we let pass doing nothing of real value?
Not building our dunya… and not investing in our akhirah.
Just drifting.
This quote is heavy because it removes excuses.
You are either working towards something… or you are being idle/empty.
Even rest has a purpose.
But mindless time?
That’s what costs us.
It made me reflect on how intentional I actually am with my time.
Am I using it in a way that benefits me in this life or the next?
A believer should not be empty.
We should be people of action.
People of purpose.
People who are always trying — even if it’s small.
Because time is passing anyway.
The question is: what are we filling it with?
