Hi everyone
My name is Calvin Hollywood. I'm from Germany and I've been building communities for 17 years. I've created three communities with Skool and in this post I'd like to share a few tips on how to increase engagement when you're starting out with community building.
Tips 01 The past
When asking your community a question, refer to what they've experienced, not what they're planning to do next. Such questions are easier to answer. Asks for past highlights.
Tip 02 Don't take too much time
Keep your question simple and don't ask for too much detail. Your community pays with their time at the beginning. This is valuable, so create posts that are quick and easy to have an opinion on.
Tip 03 Community building is not social media
While you often post about yourself on social media, with a community, focus on the others. Withhold your opinion and ask for the opinion of others. Use less the words I, we, us and more the words you and you.
These are really just three simple thoughts, which, however, have an extreme psychological effect. Have fun building the community
