New Choral Piece! - what inspires you?
Et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis…”And on earth peace to people of good will. I’ve just released a new choral piece, Et in Terra Pax, from my Mass setting. This section comes early in the Gloria and is intentionally still and prayerful. Set in E♭ major, the harmony barely moves, allowing the vocal lines to unfold gently — more like a prayer than a declaration. Peace here isn’t proclaimed loudly; it’s received. If you enjoy sacred choral music, or simply need a moment of calm and reflection, I hope this blesses you. Feel free to listen quietly, share, or let me know what you hear in it.

Happy New year! A small milestone for me…
I’ve just finished my first ever fugue — a Gloria in G major — and it also happens to be the first composition I’ve completed this year. I’ll be honest: for years the word fugue felt slightly intimidating. Academic. Complicated. Something other composers did. But once I stopped thinking of it as an argument to be won, and more as a journey that unfolds and comes to rest, it suddenly made sense. This Gloria isn’t about drama or cleverness. It’s about movement, praise, and arrival — voices entering one by one, travelling together, and finally coming home. There’s something very satisfying about finishing a piece like this. Not because it’s “clever”, but because it feels settled. If you’re a creative person, you’ll know what I mean when I say: sometimes finishing something quietly is just as important as starting something loudly. I’ll share the music shortly for anyone who’d like to listen. Thanks for following the journey. Please like my YouTube Channel
