What is this patience thing???
Okay, so the ad is set up, I KNOW it's going to take some time to figure out where to serve and all of that, but where are the millions of downloads and buys??? I can't be the only one feeling this way, right?
A lonely author confession
I have to confess, I envy many of you for living on continents where you can meet fellow authors in person and attend events without crossing oceans or spending a small fortune. For me, the hardest part is the loneliness of being an English-writing author in a country that does not read in English. I tried traditional publishing here; it earned me enough for a daily coffee and a lot of frustration from having no control. I tried FB ads for one month, got terrified I would lose money, and went back into my writing cave to focus on building a longer series before my next attempt. My plan is to start again in February, ready or not. And just to add something funny: I play the lottery every week, and in all my “if I win” daydreams, being able to comfortably pay for ads is a big joy. Not even a million would stop me from writing, publishing, and reaching as many readers as my marketing skills can bring in. So it is really nice to meet a community like this, and thank you for giving me the little “push” I needed to finally write a post.

The art of DONE!
Calling out perfectionists, those that are afraid to get started, afraid to finish, and all those in between! Lovingly, embrace not just being DONE but failing. If your palms started to get a little sweaty, this is for you. How best can you apply this to your career and FB Ads in general? Cult of Done Manifesto for Writers - Understand that everything is a draft; embrace the idea that there is no complete state. - Focus on getting your ideas down rather than striving for perfection. - Banish procrastination: if you wait more than a month to start an idea, abandon it. - Accept that pretending to know what you're doing is often sufficient to move forward. - Remember that the goal is not just to finish one project but to create a backlist of completed works. - Once a project is done, let it go and move on to the next. - Recognize that perfectionism can hinder your progress; aim for completion instead. - Dismiss any negative thoughts or voices that discourage you from completing your work. Accept Failure as Part of the Process - Understand that failure counts as progress; parts of your work may need to be discarded. Publish Your Ideas - If you have an idea, publish it online; this counts as completing a task. - Utilize the Cult of Done Manifesto as a reference to guide your writing process Cautionary Notes - Avoid over-editing your work; trust your initial ideas. - Be mindful of the time spent on projects; prioritize those that excite you. Tips for Efficiency - Set deadlines for each draft to encourage timely completion. - Regularly review and reflect on your progress to stay motivated. - Share your work with peers for feedback to enhance your writing process.
