Your backlist is the comfort meal
Cozy reminder for today: your older books are not past their prime. A launch is a sugar rush. Your backlist is the comfort meal that keeps feeding you. Some of the books that earn the most for authors are years old. They have reviews, they have history, and readers already trust them. That quiet older book of yours might just be your steadiest little earner. How old is the oldest book you've written? Drop it in the comments. Let's give those early books some love today.

My oldest is 15 years old and I have re-covered it a few times. Soon it'll be getting the special edition treatment. The total series is 6 books, with plans for a seventh if the Kickstarter does well enough. It's also getting an AI feature length movie!

@JennaLee Gallicchio Nice!! how long is the series?
Old does not mean less valuable
There's a myth that a book has a shelf life and then it's 'done.' Nope. Old does not mean less valuable. It means proven. A book that's been around a while has something a brand new one doesn't yet: readers who already loved it. Don't count your early books out. What's one older book of yours you haven't thought about in a while? Name it. It might be ready for a second moment.

@Jenn Lessmann A little bit. I'd try to thin the text on the middle one (remove the top text or the bottom text) And change the font of text on image 3. (Also cut out the Sometimes) The first image has a very generic review. I'd put something on it that is about character. Pull with emotion. Readers by based on emotion, it's the driving motivator to sales.

@Jenn Lessmann go with 3. Everything else is too generic and vague! It could fit hundreds of books and that’s really what you are looking for. Also the unmagical last quote is also amazing. I not do review ads myself but those I’d pick for sure if I was going to do this kind of ad.
Are you books ad ready?

@Karen Landry I'd rewrite the last half of your blurb so it's not line after line. At least condense into a few paragraphs. Maybe @ Then I'd add a quality trope filled CTA at the end. Then it'll be ready!

@Jenn Lessmann It's pretty close! I'd add a blank line between paragraph breaks so you can get white space. You want them to be as easy to read as possible. Then I'd remove all the reviews and add them to the editorial section in Author Central. And I'd add a CTA trope filled, "If you enjoyed the snark of the Gilmore Girls with the cozy vibes of Practical Magic, you'll be ready to brew up some trouble with....." Just an example, of course, but you get the idea!
