Tips for Good Audio?

Is there a best practices method for recording good audio? I have a Yeti, but it picks up the fans and other electrical signals.

Here is what I've tried:

Rubber pads on the clamp to the desk

Turning off everything possible

Not using LED lights anywhere

Pop Screen

Running audio through filters afterwards to reduce 60hz hum

What I haven't tried yet:

External hardware filters

Better sound cards

Some people's audio sounds so good, what am I doing wrong?
