Make a current member's subscription free

Hi guys - I have a member of a paid of my paid group who is now going to be moderating for me, and I want to remove his subscription but keep him in the group.

I tried inviting by email but it just takes him to the group as he's already a member, how can i do this? Can't see an option in the members settings?
