How to increase engagement in my community?

Hi team.

I am wondering how to increase the engagement in my community?

We have been using the questions plugin , auto DM and making sure they go through our filters. But not sure of the best strategy to get them engaged once they enter.

we do have great classrooms that unlocks after a certain level.we also have a "start here" pinned post which is gamified.

But we only get a low percentage of new joiners to engage. with no engagement how to crowdsource?

-What is missing?

-Should I stop letting new members in before increasing the engagement ?
