This community is for people who want to enjoy the later years of their lives in what is, in my experience, one of the safest countries in the Americas. Many people doubt this, but it is true. The climate is consistently excellent, life is calm, and daily life works very well as long as you are not politically involved.

Originally, I created this community for Germans and New Zealanders, but I am open to people from the United States and, in fact, from anywhere. The country is extremely beautiful, but settling here requires some local knowledge. It is very different from other countries—not in a negative way, but in a positive one.

There are many formal procedures to follow. If even one small detail is done incorrectly, you may need to start again. For example, mistakes during purchases or administrative steps can easily cause delays of several months. Knowing how things work beforehand makes a big difference.
