I remembered!
ALERT - I’ve gone from long winded to writing short stories! After a very busy weekend, especially going to a play yesterday, dinner with the family, and not getting home and settled in until 8:00 PM, even though I knew the Caydo iCord machine had arrived at my son’s house, I wasn’t ready to open it. I just wanted to relax and unwind watching TV. Well, I fell asleep for about 2 hours and woke up at 1:00 AM. It must have been the Caydo calling my name. So I watched the Classroom video again, then opened the box, started reading their instructions, even scanned the QR code that came with it. It said to watch their videos first, so I tried with the first one. It was more for troubleshooting, because when it said to wipe the needles and then oil them, I said to myself, this can’t be right. So I went back to following the instructions in their manual and felt clueless. So back to the classroom video I go. First attempt, I messed up, thread was not going through the machine and had bunched up, i tried pulling it loose, but didn’t want to risk breaking the needles, so I cut it off. Second attempt, was easy peasy. Thanks @Kim Thompson-Pinder . So now I look for the projects I was to make and started rummaging through my jewelry making supplies looking through beads, etc. Oops, my jewelry making tools are on a shelf that would require me going to get the step stool. I’m awake, but not fully awake so that’s not happening. I know where key rings are, I’ll just make do with those. 2nd project required a glue gun. Yippee, I have that! Another item I acquired from my crafty sister, although I didn’t have a clue on how to use it. Time is ticking and I have to get up at 7:15, but I’m determined. Glue gun was not as easy to use as I had hoped, blaming it on arthritis in my hand because it took both hands to press the lever so the glue could come out! Well I finished as you might have seen in previous post at about 4:10 AM. Now to get to what “I remembered!” When Campbell arrived, she’s very observant, and asked what’s this, pointing to the Caydo iCord machine, I explain we’re going to make cords with it, let me show you! Didn’t have to watch the video again and I threaded it with no problem! I’m so happy! I had a tie I made by hand crocheting that was in one of my unfinished projects. Started pulling it apart, before I ended up saying you’re wasting your time. I had a little ball left and was hoping it would be enough. Did I say I was very happy LOL

Coffee mug cozy
My coffee and tea kept getting cold on me, so I decided to make cozies to see if it will keep them warm. Very similar to head bands, they were quick to make.

HEADLINES THAT SOUND FINE UNTIL YOU LIVE THEM - “I’ll Just Check My Gauge.” It Checked Back. - “This Yarn Is for a Gift.” The Gift Is Me. - “I Don’t Need Another Project Bag.” The Floor Disagrees. - “I’ll Remember What I Did Here.” A Historical Fiction. - “I’ll Use Every Skein I Bought.” An Aspirational Genre. ++++++++++ I used the circular knitting machine to make a hat in under ten minutes. Felt unstoppable. Then spent forty minutes: - fixing dropped stitches - closing the top - weaving ends - adjusting tension At the end, I said, “I made this so fast.” The machine remained silent, but not uninvolved. +++++++++++ I went into the yarn shop for “just one skein.” I picked it up. Walked around. Put it back. Picked up a different one. Also put it back. Then I found a color I didn’t need but felt emotionally aligned with. Then another that “would go with it.” I walked out with five skeins and a calm explanation: “They were already practically a project.” The bag was heavier than the logic. ++++++++++++++++++++ I measured my project. Looked good. Measured again just to be sure. Different number. Measured a third time more carefully. Now I had three answers and less confidence. I stretched the fabric slightly. Measured again. Finally got the number I wanted. Decided that was the correct one and put the tape measure away before it could disagree. +++++++++++++ At 11:30 p.m., a black cat positioned herself directly on the pattern page, covering only the row I needed. Every time I slid the paper out, she adjusted by two inches, precise and committed. We both understood this was now a test of patience. She was winning. ++++++++++++++ I bought a needle gauge to feel organized. Now I use it to confirm what I already fear: none of these needles are the size they claim to be, and neither am I. +++++++++++++++ My grandson picked up my ball of yarn, squinted, and asked, “Is this before it turns into something useful?”
