Sleepy Bear done at last!
Here’s the sleepy bear that I made for my granddaughter’s 4th birthday. It’s the first one I’ve made. I’ve learned a lot with this first one. The next one will hopefully be better! (And faster and easier.)

@Dd Stoller Thank you!
Just put on the finishing touches!
I wasn’t happy with the way the neck looked. So I created a way to cover it up with a little bunting. The last pic is the box I will mail tomorrow. Her birthday is Thursday. Hopefully she will get it on time!!

@Barbara Amarillas I thought is solved a problem and gives her something to do with her sleepy bear besides sleep. A way to practice tying bows.

Guess Who Shares Your Birthday Wendy Marchant
@Wendy Merchant Happy Birthday and my gift to you is that my grandson was born today. Everyone, meet Micah, my 2.665kg / 5.87lb Grandson. It was a long labour but both Mom and Baby are doing well. Thank you everyone for the prayers

Scissors: I've got questions
This is a topic that I find confusing -- at least, online. I have discovered that my yarn cutting scissors get dull really, really FAST! Hubby has sharpened them for me. At first, they are great! But before long, they are dull again. So I went searching for some that would work well for pompom making...(since that is where I am in making my Sleepy Bear). I learned the hard way that making pompoms with dull scissors is pretty much impossible! I found some higher prices scissors with free professional sharpening in Canada. But, I would pay more in shipping both ways than the cost of the scissors themselves. So not practical for me in the USA. Then I found a pair in the Atlanta, Georgia area, but would still be without them for about a week with shipping both ways...paid by me. So now I think perhaps the best approach may be to buy new scissors, use them until they no longer do that job, then turn them into paper scissors, and buy new ones. I have the gray handled Fiskars scissors right now. But they are NOT going to "cut it" when I make the pompom for my Sleepy Bear. What's your favorite go-to scissors for yarn? Especially for making pompoms?

@Tina Bryner That’s a brilliant idea!

One thing I discovered is that scissors with titanium coating cannot be sharpened. Just use folded aluminum foil to clean the blades. The sharpening action would remove the titanium coating and make them useless.
