Hello and Merry Christmas to all! I am so thrilled to have found this wonderful resource for newbies especially. I learned to knit by hand in 6th grade and have put that knowledge to work intermittently through the years. I learned about machine knitting in the early 2000s on a Brother machine, and made several fun items intermittently through the next decade. When I retired three years ago, we decided to move closer to grandchildren. Getting the house ready to sell, and thinking of moving the knitting machine and all the yarn and stuff that goes with it was overwhelming. So with downsizing for the move, I sold the knitting machine and almost everything that went with it. Now, 2.5 years later, I have the time and inclination to make things for my grandchildren. Now I have an Addi King and wanted to make things for my 3.5 year old granddaughter. After searching online for tutorials to get me started. Nothing was working. I was about to return it to Amazon when I came across Kim’s YouTube channel, I knew it was a “God moment”. I jumped in Friday night and discovered the absolute importance of the right yarn. I went to Michael’s yesterday, and picked up the brands Kim recommended, and finished my first project within a couple of hours. The biggest issue for me was finding the end of the yarn to pull out of the middle to put into my yarn winder. Once I solved that, it took less than an hour from cast on the finish beanie for my granddaughter’s Christmas gift. Only one dropped stitch during cast off. And finished the handwork in about 15 minutes. Thank you, Kim! You saved my “Nana” sanity for Christmas week. Sorry for the saga. But just had to share. Have an awesome week, Everyone!
