Vapi Phone Numbers Not Working — PSTN Transport Issue (call.start.error-get-transport)
Hey everyone, hoping someone here has run into this and can help!
I'm building a voice agent for a soccer club using Vapi + GoHighLevel (GHL). Here's the full situation:
Setup:
  • Connected Vapi to GHL via API key (Private Integration) — that part worked fine
  • - Created a GHL calendar for the test account
  • - Built out an agent in Vapi Composer with a full intake prompt
  • - Provisioned a Vapi phone number (tried two numbers, both with 949 area code for Orange County, CA)
The Problem:
The phone numbers provision successfully and show as active in Vapi, but:
  1. Clicking on them in the Phone Numbers dashboard shows an error / blank screen
  2. 2. When trying to make an outbound test call, it fails immediately
  3. 3. Error returned: call.start.error-get-transport / EndedReason: sip:...@sip.vapi.ai
I already added a payment method to the account (a Link card is connected with a checkmark), but the issue persists.
It seems like PSTN transport is not activated on my Vapi organization, even after adding billing info.
My Org ID: 7e25cc65-0ddd-4c3b-b3d3-bce372f16137
Has anyone dealt with this before? Is this something Vapi support needs to manually activate on the backend, or is there a setting I'm missing? Any help appreciated!
