So
4 rds Defense/Feints/Gates
Defense = Vision/Eyesight
Feints = Skirmish Offense
Gates = Position
This is the most crucial part of this system. If I can’t see, I don’t know where the enemy is. If I don’t keep the enemy thinking I give permission for them to attack without consequence. Without position, you take away your ability to be effective.
When we shadowbox the first 4 rounds we are not just getting reps in we are strengthening our bond to what it means to be in a battle.
Sun Tzu (author of the Art of War) said "Invincibility lies in the defense; the possibility of victory in the attack".
Notice Key Words INVINCIBILITY IS IN DEFENSE. “POSSIBILITY” OF VICTORY is in attack. Meaning yes an offense does present a chance of victory, but to be invincible means you cannot lose!
Boxing terms: You can have a lack luster offense and an impeccable defense and still win a fight Willie pep won multiple rounds without throwing a single punch. But yet a person with a HIGH output of punches can still lose a round!
So the first 4rds are most important take your time with. Bond with it..Cherish it…Adore it..Love it…see opponents missing…see yourself as untouchable. The boxing world will ask if you “HAVE A CHIN” our response is idk..no one seems to be able to touch it. AMEN!
