Fail! don't panic
So I took my first Network+ full practice test last night. I failed! No surprise there, but I did do a lot better than I thought I did. I got 54% when I probably really only knew a few questions for sure. I do have a technical background and often I could rule out a couple of answers because I knew what they were and they didn't pertain to the question. This gave me 50% of choosing the right answer. There were times when I didn't recognize ANY of the acronyms in the answers which kind of made my heart jump. But then I relaxed and looked back at the question and looked at the key word or concept asked about and tried to match the first letter to the first or second letter in the acronym. Then at least I had half a chance. So, don't panic if you don't know the answer, just take another look in a different way. Then let it go and move on!! I am aiming for 85% with confidence, no guessing, before I take the real test. Lot's of work to do. I will definitely need those flashcards. Let's go!
Network+ cert coming soon
2 weeks ago I started studying for the Network+ exam. Before I started I took a baseline practice test which had me at 54% but very little confidence. I had no clue what most of the acronyms I was presented with were. My goal was to get to 85% with confidence. A few days ago, I tested at 83%. Close!! The last couple of days I have been a little under the weather so not sure I have progressed much. But still I think there is a good chance I will pass. There was only one question I felt I was completely guessing on and I am recognizing most of the acronyms. I need to learn to read the questions better, but hopefully getting some sleep will help with that. Time to calm my mind.
Excited
I just earned an IBM Cybersecurity Cert!!!! And with that I am almost confident for sec+ and CySa+ https://www.credly.com/users/savoy-campbell#credly

My boss, the lead IT guy ( who went all the way to CCNA and CCNP, etc.) after letting him know about my network+ studies, asked if I can get more networking tickets to gain hands on practical experience, and he agreed. And I have a date for when I want to take Net+ exam, I'm soooooooooo ready!!!!!!!!!!!!
