The Inspiring Journey of Hilary Swank
Hilary Swank went from living in a trailer to becoming a two-time Oscar-winning actress.
When she was young, Hilary dreamed of becoming an actress in Hollywood. Her family didn’t have much money, and they lived in a trailer.
At 15, her parents separated, and Hilary and her mom became homeless.
They drove to Los Angeles to follow Hilary’s dream, living in their car for months, showering at gas stations, and struggling to get by. Eventually, Hilary’s mom found a secretarial job that helped them rent a small room.
Hilary went to many auditions, but agents told her she didn’t have the "right look" and she wasn’t fit for lead roles. She kept hearing "no," but she didn’t give up.
She kept trying and improving her acting skills.
In 1999, Hilary got her big break when she was cast in Boys Don’t Cry.
She worked hard for the role, even losing weight and living as a man to fully understand her character. Her hard work paid off, and she won her first Academy Award for Best Actress.
In 2004, Hilary trained like a boxer for Million Dollar Baby, even splitting her lip during training. She won her second Oscar for that role.
Today, Hilary has starred in over 50 movies and TV shows and has a net worth of $70 million.
As Hilary says, “You only have one life, and if you're not doing what you love, what's the point?”
Every ‘no’ brings you one step closer to a ‘yes.’ Keep going. #Believe
