September: Bake It Forward
September is for the people we feed.
When back-to-school season hits, the days can feel full before your feet even hit the floor. There are lunches to pack, rides to make, dinner to figure out, and so many people depending on you to keep things moving. And sometimes, having a loaf of homemade bread on the counter is one small, beautiful way to say, I was thinking of you.
This month inside The Bread & Butter Way, we’re talking about Baking It Forward.
Not in a “you need to do everything from scratch” kind of way. We are not trying to create a perfect kitchen, a perfect routine, or a picture-perfect loaf.
We are simply making room for the little things that help a home feel cared for:
  • Toast before everyone heads out the door
  • A sandwich made with bread you baked yourself
  • Grilled cheese after a long day
  • A warm loaf dropped off for a neighbor
  • Letting your kids watch you try again when the dough doesn’t go quite as planned
Because when you bake, you are giving your family more than bread.
You are showing them that real food can be simple. That feeding people does not have to be complicated to be meaningful. That a warm kitchen, a good loaf of bread, and a little patience can make ordinary days feel special.
You are building confidence—one dough, one loaf, one meal at a time.
That is what I want for you this month: less overthinking, less pressure, and more simple bread that fits into your real life.
One method. Simple tools. A rhythm you can actually keep.
We’ll be focusing on the breads that support busy families best: soft sandwich loaves, easy everyday baking rhythms, simple meals, family food traditions, and the quiet confidence that comes every time you pull a loaf from the oven.
You do not need to bake every day.
You do not need every loaf to look perfect.
You just need to take the next step.
Let’s make bread that feeds the people we love—and then pass that goodness forward.
