Bring your questions and join me today at 1:00 PM CT for a live Artisan Sourdough Q&A. Whether you’re wondering about: • Getting your starter active and ready • Reading your dough during bulk fermentation • Shaping for a taller, more beautiful loaf • Scoring and why your loaf may be spreading • Baking, steam, crust, crumb—or anything else …come ask! No question is too basic or too specific. Let’s troubleshoot together so you can bake an artisan boule you’re proud to put on the table. See you at 1 PM Central! 🍞

Is there a way to get a copy of the original handout from the sourdough starter class? I lost mine and need the instructions to make my first loaf again!
Monday Motivation
What is perfect anyway? Bread baking is not about getting every loaf "perfectly" right the first time. It is about giving yourself space to learn, make mistakes, notice what your dough is teaching you, and make something delicious in the process. Start with one loaf a week. Make one adjustment at a time. That is enough. One loaf can become toast in the morning, sandwiches at lunch, soup night at dinner, and a backup in the freezer. You do not have to bake every day to make a meaningful difference in your home. This week, let go of the pressure to be perfect. Bake the loaf in front of you. Take a note. Celebrate what worked. Then choose just one small thing to try next time. That is how confidence grows: one loaf, one lesson, one week at a time. If you are ready for more support, come join us as a BBW Member. You’ll get weekly live coaching calls, helpful Q&A, and full access to every Bread & Butter Way course—so you always know what to focus on next and have a community baking alongside you. 👉 Upgrade to Premium BBW Members and bake with us each week. BBW Coaching Call is Wednesday, 11am central. What is one thing you are working on in your bread baking this week? Drop it in the comments.

Wow! 400 Members! That is so awesome! So cool! I am thrilled that you are here learning sourdough & bread making with me! Thank you for being here! Every week that goes by, I am more convinced that this is where I need to be...I live and breathe the process. Even my advice to my kids is packed full of metaphors and examples around the bread making process...I am sure they are so annoyed "Mama talking about Sourdough...again!" ...but it is so valid. Have you discovered that the more we learn, the more we realize how much we still have to learn...and I am here for it! I had no idea the depth of this topic...and every day is an adventure. Thanks for being here! For fun, share something about the bread making process that surprised you?

My sourdough starter filled my jar so I used 1/2 cup to bake a loaf of bread. The dough rose because I added a pkg of yeast. But after it was refrigerated and I put it on parchment paper the two loaves went flat. They did not rise again. Did the dough require some kneading? At least the sour dough starter seems to be growing. But the bread did not taste like sour dough. I need some advice please

I was using your white handout that gives the measurements of each ingredient. I followed your instructions! There is only the one recipe on paper
