這個月的主題有美國超市，我想要來分享在美國麻州(和鄰近地區)超市龍頭Market Basket的經營權之爭。因為Market Basket在東北市占率高，所以佔據不少新聞和維基百科的版面，內容勘比台灣八點檔長壽劇。法院文件有數百頁，所以下列內容只是摘要，畢竟長壽劇的家族糾葛不是幾個段落可以講完的🤦‍♀️😅

There have been multiple ownership battles within the Demoulas family over the past 30+ years. The most famous ones were in 2014 and 2025, when Arthur T. Demoulas was forced to leave management at Market Basket.

In 2014, the fight was between cousins. The board, controlled by Arthur S., fired Arthur T. Luckily, Arthur T.’s sisters were on his side at the time. He was also strongly supported by employees and customers, who organized protests, strikes, and boycotts that helped him regain control of Market Basket. There was even a theme song for the protests.

In 2025, the fight became a conflict between Arthur T. and his own sisters. The sisters sued him over disagreements about governance and oversight. Because the sisters controlled a majority of the shares, they were able to remove Arthur T. from leadership. Arthur T. then countersued to regain his CEO position. In 2026, the court ruled against him and found his removal from the position valid.
