Greetings
Hello everyone, My name is Jose Hermosillo, and I currently serve in the United States Navy as a Missile Technician (MT) on submarines. Alongside my military career, I am pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Data Analytics with plans to earn my CPA and transition into the finance and accounting field. I had to opportunity to attend a two-day Boots to Business entrepreneurship course led by Dr. Joe Richardson. This experience strengthened my interest in long-term professional development and helped shape my goals as I begin preparing for life after active duty. I look forward to interacting with this community, learning from your experiences, and contributing wherever I can.
Motivation Monday: Leadership Latte #44-Law of the Rubber Band
Good morning wonderful people! I hope this greeting finds you with fond and happy memories of your Thanksgiving break. Welcome to December 2025! On today’s episode of Leadership Latte with Dr. Joe, we’re reflecting on Law #10 in John Maxwell’s Book the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth—the Law of the Rubber Band. Simply stated, growth happens when we stretch beyond our comfort zones. Like a rubber band, our true value shows when we’re willing to take on new challenges and push ourselves. Enjoy listening, and as you reflect on the words I share, challenge yourself to make stretching a habit so you can increase your value to yourself and to others. If you haven’t done so already, please make sure you’ve downloaded the Skool app and turned on notifications to make listening to these audio messages easier. Have a great week, and I look forward to our continued growth journey together! Dr. Joe

Motivation Monday: Leadership Latte #42-Law of Pain
Greetings leaders, and Happy Monday! In every journey of personal and professional growth, pain is inevitable—but how we respond to it makes all the difference. The Law of Pain, one of John Maxwell’s 15 Laws of Growth, teaches us that while everyone experiences setbacks, challenges, and disappointments, growth happens when we choose to learn from those moments rather than avoid them. For a digital community, this law is especially relevant. Online spaces bring together diverse individuals, each with unique stories and struggles. By sharing our experiences and supporting one another through difficult times, we transform pain into progress. The Law of Pain encourages us to embrace vulnerability, foster resilience, and turn adversity into opportunities for learning and connection. Let’s use this platform to not only acknowledge our challenges but also to inspire each other to grow stronger—together. Enjoy today’s listen, and I look forward to your comments in the community! Dr. Joe

Schedule your “ME” time
Good morning leaders, While walking the spoiled pooch that lives in my house, I reflected upon everything I had to do today. Appt, meetings, and social engagements. Then it hit me like a wall of bricks that I had not scheduled any “me“ time on the calendar. We are always so concerned about making time for everyone else and not taking time for us. If we are without nourishment, then we are unable to produce. If we are drained, we cannot pour into anyone else. Leaders, everything that’s usually important we place on the calendar. Challenge yourself to put at least one 30 minute block a week on your calendar whether it’s 3 - 10 minute blocks, 2-15 minute blocks or 1-30 minute block but do it for yourself. You give so much to everyone else that it’s OK to take that time for yourself so that you are a better view for you, your family, and your communities. Continue to make a positive impact in your communities! Kim
