Your perspective matters. What you decide to share with others and the world is valuable. Yet, your silence speaks volumes. Quick story: Two years ago I met a gentleman at a conference. He expressed how excited he was to finally listen to God on moving forward with his story. I knew he was in his mid 70’s and I was happy for him. After the conference I was surprised that someone so excited to finally obey his calling was now not responding. I called, text and emailed him for a week. Only to find out he was no longer with us. His heart was tired and gave out. He had helped hundreds of people fulfill their dreams yet he never finished fulfilling his own. That stuck with me and to this day it has a profound effect. Occasionally I visit his instagram page as a reminder that tomorrow is not promised and we all have something we need to do today. Sending this with care. What I learned about being in a community of my choosing is to participate right away. Especially in a group specifically for writers. Share your thoughts on a story idea you may be stuck on. A story you are working on or a story you just finished. The more you interact the more camaraderie you will develop and the more help you will get and receive. This is a contact sport - this thing called writing so we have so many opportunities to get in contact and share ideas and where we are. I write and read every day and I have been in this lane for over 40 years. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Let’s talk about what you are working on presently.

For sometime I have been thinking about how attentive I am to my clients and how I show up and how they show up knowing I care about their body of work. And in the past few weeks I noticed that the referrals I have been getting has allowed me to level up with every aspect of what I do. This has helped to make more room for working on my own books, stories and film scripts. I have to acknowledge that I have more time now for writing my own story and feeling the pain of each trial relived as I dive deeper into who I am and what makes me function. It’s different, it’s new and I have to stay focused so that I keep DOING IT ANYWAY. Why is this important? Well, when you have an audience of people desirous of your work, and desirous of working with you at a well deserved price point you not only open up your schedule to have time to do something productive that you love… you actually help people who really want to do something amazing for themselves. I am thankful for the quality of people coming my way who are serious about what they want casting fear aside and indulging in making their mark on this world. Let’s navigate these waters together and be thankful for focused, ready and willing folks who let nothing stop them from winning.
