Is Ego all Bad? Or Is There Such A Thing As Good Ego?
According to A Course in Miracles: Ego is our entire network of fearful perceptions, all stemming from that first false belief in our separation from God and one another.
Most of us were taught that “ego” is bad.
That it’s prideful, selfish, arrogant, or in the way of being spiritual.
But that’s only half the truth.
Here in our True Freedom work, we define ego the same way many of our teachers do (like Marianne Williamson and A Course in Miracles):
👉 Ego is the false identity we built when we forgot who we really are.
Here's a Truth Perspective: Ego isn't an identity - it’s BS - A belief system.
A mental operating system rooted in separation, fear, and survival.
Good News! There's two sides to Ego. (Law of Polarity in Action)
🧟♂️ EGO AS THE OGRE (False Self)
This is the part of you that:
- Thinks it has to earn worthiness
- Judges others to feel safe
- Avoids presence by clinging to control
- Reacts from fear and calls it “intuition”
- Performs, people-pleases, or hides to stay accepted
This ego is your Ogre.The scared identity built on old stories.
It’s not who you are it’s who you learned to be.
And don't be mad at your Ogre Ego because...
When you were younger it kept you safe.
But now it's time to rewrite the Ogre's Job Description!
👑 EGO AS THE CHAMPION (Aligned Self)
Shift your paradigm and turn your Ogre into your Champion
Not all ego is bad.
You need a healthy sense of “I AM” to take aligned action, speak your truth, and create change.
✅ The Champion Self isn’t pretending to be something.
It's allowing the truth to flow through everything.
It’s your ego in service to your soul.
Not in charge.
But surrendered, aligned, and activated.
✨ So what do we do?
We don’t shame the ego.
We recognize it, release the illusion, and realign with the truth:
I am not separate.
I am not lacking.
I am not here to prove.
I am here to remember who I AM and express that fully.
This is the journey of True Freedom.
Not ego death.
Ego transformation.
