Hello, how are you? I hope everything is going well!
I'm writing because I'd love to get an update on what networking looks like for you nowadays.
What tools do you use? Do you have any particular techniques or workflows that you find useful? Are there any books about networking that you're reading or would recommend? Basically, I'd love to hear what actually works for you.
At the moment, I'm still using a CRM I built with Notion, and I try to do some networking every day. But in my case, reaching out to audio leads, audio directors, etc. on LinkedIn often feels almost impossible.
Most of the time, it goes something like:
"Hello [name of the audio director], thanks for accepting my connection! How are you?"
Reply: "Hello, fine."
And then...
"Stop right there!" — to quote Oblivion 😅
So I'm wondering: what are your actual networking "tactics"?
Do you use specific tools? Do you follow a particular approach when reaching out to people? Do you email companies directly? Do you have a system for following up or keeping track of conversations?
I'd really love to hear how you guys actually approach networking beyond just sending connection requests and hoping for the best!
