Hey. We're happy you're here!
You have an opportunity to share a little about what brought you to this Skool. I always dislike this part of building an online community, but please give it your best shot. Let us know your goals, dreams, and aspirations - whatever really. If you prefer to just lurk on the side, that’s cool too!

First Post. Kinda shooting from the hip!
Martial arts are at a unique crossroads. Access to information is no longer the issue. There is more content, more instructionals, more clips, and more opinions than ever before. The challenge now is clarity. The challenge is discernment. This course is designed to cut through the noise. My goal is not to overwhelm you with more material but to organize what matters. To distill the most valuable principles I’ve found through years of training, coaching, competing, and running my own academy, and translate them into practical guidance for your daily practice. You can find information anywhere. What’s harder to find is guidance that connects ideas to action. This is a place where we build that connection together.A community committed to thoughtful training, honest work, and foundations we can all be proud of.

We're headed into Holy Week...and no, that is not some attempt at a witty jiu-jitsu quip. This time of year is one of my favorites. I love the Easter season, and the vibrance that is felt all around us as spring kicks into gear. I'm really excited about what is in store in the coming months, with many events, camps, and competitions on the horizon. Our Q&A got blown up this afternoon by the computer not behaving the way it should. I'm happy to drop a video here with any questions that have come up, and if you need any support this week. Yes, there are a lot of responsibilities this week. Yes, I do actually understand, but that's also not an excuse for NOT training this week. So, remember, put in the work, even when it's most inconvenient. And, please, forward an invite to all your friends. The more humans we get involved here,e the better we'll all get together!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I just arrived back from a trip to San Diego. I attended the JFLO Mastermind Summit. Justin "JFLO" Flores had an incredible background in grappling, beginning in judo, transitioning to college wrestling, then back to judo, and eventually finding his way to Brazilian jiu-jitsu. His interpretation of standing engagements and bringing the opponent to the ground in a controlled fashion without giving up position or control really sparked my interest. He had been on my radar for a while before I committed to heading to the summit. No joke, it was the best seminar I've ever been to. He broke down the details of successful takedowns and how to apply those concepts seamlessly across the three grappling arts. I've been doing my best over the past few days to begin sharing with you all what I've learned, so you can benefit from the light bulbs that went off for me over the past week. I would love to know what you are interested in learning from a stand-up perspective. What takedowns have you seen or learned that don't seem logical or feasible for you as an athlete? How can we make all these techniques accessible to you so you can train them safely and in ways that benefit you and your partners?
Sunday March 15th 2026 Q&A
We went over some of Anthony's questions about octopus guard, not a complete answer but close enough concepts. We also went over some darce mechanics, again, not a complete tutorial but a couple brief notes on things to focus on when setting the choke.
