@Rob Suh i'm just happy that you're back on the mats so quickly after the intervention. We'll talk conditioning during Q&A and hopefully that should give you some strategy.

02.22.2026 | Weekly Q&A
Justin asked a question about the arm in the guillotine. We reviewed the mechanics and discussed how to create distortions in the cervical spine (neck) to finish effectively. Sarah asked me to review some concepts about scrambling / passing; really lower body control. Rob asked about cardio, and getting back into Jiu-jitsu cardio, really pulmonary (lung) shape.

Hey. We're happy you're here!
You have an opportunity to share a little about what brought you to this Skool. I always dislike this part of building an online community, but please give it your best shot. Let us know your goals, dreams, and aspirations - whatever really. If you prefer to just lurk on the side, that’s cool too!

@Satchel Stillwell Welcome! Happy to have you here with us, Satchel. You had me at, "extreme and debilitating violence." ❤️

@Rob Suh I'm so happy that you started training. Jonathan Haidt's work has been very impactful for me as well - i listed to three of his books while doing construction and preparing the our chiropractic office in brooklyn many years back now. Getting the family involved is the best way to keep you on the mats, too!

Friendly Reminder.
Class is LIVE every evening on YouTube. And the classes are available for rewatching at your leisure. Sunday Open Mat is also live and recorded on YouTube, so you can see live training and review your rounds if you come down to train. This is all to say, if the technology obeys 😄

This week we're looking at engagement from butterfly guard. Often we find ourselves in the situation with a kneeling opponent. This week's tasks are designed to force the guard player to remain engaged from the butterly position and not allow them the opportunity to conceed half guard. Top players must remain with a minimum of one knee down during this weeks progressions to keep them focused on the middle and close distance grip fight leading to pins. Keep you're eye on this week's YT lessons. Sunday we'll convene after open mat to connect with any questions.
