I had a thought during the group discussion today on business, money, leadership and connections with clients and our teams.
At times business and making money may not always provide the best case scenarios to connect with our teams. If a team member isn’t performing well and impacting the business, that employee may eventually find themselves off the team (terminated) and out of luck.
It seems the business takes precedent over the person, like a Casino ( the house always wins), especially if we as leaders can’t get the person to perform well or see the vision we set forth.
This happens in my work as well. It is a business, focused around care of other human beings. Social, emotional, physical, medical well being. If someone doesn’t perform, we review intentions, we try to build and use relationships to build them up and help them refocus, honestly it’s on each person to come around to make adjustments.
How do people feel on this aspect of business?
What are strategies you may use or have used in this scenario?
