Today I ran a simple but revealing experiment. Same LED, same voltage (12.1V), two power sources — the Phi Ratio Cone self-oscillating circuit vs direct DC.
The results surprised me:
Cone circuit: 2.17W in → 1,854 lux out
Direct DC: 3.26W in → 538 lux out
The cone uses 33% less power and produces 3.4× more photons resulting in 5.2 times higher efficiency.
The lux meter confirmed it even though DC looks brighter to the eye.
