Okay so... there's a mass exodus happening right now from ChatGPT to Claude.
Some of it is political. Some of it is just because... Claude is better for business.
I honestly had no idea any of this was happening/coming when I wrote the Creating with Claude Challenge, I had been using Claude more and more and wanted to share with you, like I always do, when I find something I like better or has more functionality that can help your biz.
I'm not personally ditching ChatGPT (I still build custom GPTs for this community and for my clients), but I get that a lot of you want out and you need a real alternative without losing all the work you've done training ChatGPT.
So I recorded this video below ⬇️ (WATCH BEFORE IMPORTING YOUR MEMORY):
- How to use Claude's new memory import feature
- Quick tour of Claude
- Why it's worth learning
Step 1: Claude → Settings → Capabilities → Memory (toggle ON)
Step 2: Click "Start Import" — Claude gives you a prompt to copy
Step 3: Paste that prompt in ChatGPT — it compiles everything into a code file
Step 4: Copy that file, paste it back in Claude → "Add to Memory"
Done. Claude now knows what ChatGPT knew.
But Here's What I'd Actually Do ↴
Don't just copy-paste your ChatGPT custom instructions.
ChatGPT has a tiny character limit. Claude doesn't so don't waste this opportunity to give it more context.
If you've done my Train ChatGPT to be Your Biz Bestie class, you know that Claude's personalization settings allow you more characters which makes it way more powerful — full brand voice, CTAs, decision frameworks, all of it. ⚙️ Setting Up Claude the Right Way
1. Turn on the right features
Settings → Capabilities:
- Memory (ON)
- Artifacts (ON)
- Code Execution & File Creation (ON)
Skills are now under Settings → Customizations (toolbox icon).
2. Privacy settings (if you're concerned with your data being used)
Settings → Privacy:
- Turn OFF location sharing
- Turn OFF "use my chats to train future models"
(You can do the same in ChatGPT: Settings → Data Controls)
*Most important step*
This tells Claude who you are, what you do, your brand voice, your CTAs ⇢ everything.
Professor Promptkins walks you through it step by step if you don't want to take the time to fill out the template. 👉 What Makes Claude Worth Learning
Interactive tools you build inside Claude. Content calendars, calculators, trackers — things you actually use.
Custom instruction sets so Claude already knows how you work.
Pro tip: Stack skills. Load brand voice + content creation + formatting all at once. Now Claude's working with your full system.
Claude creates actual files — Word docs, PDFs, slide decks, spreadsheets — with professional formatting and custom branding.
Client proposals. Lead magnets. Reports. Done in minutes, not hours.
🔹 Projects
Inside The One Hour Content Month, I show you how to build a Content Creator Project so Claude already knows your brand voice, content pillars, and audience every time you open it. ❓ Quick Answers
"Should I ditch ChatGPT completely?"
I haven't. I use still use ChatGPT for brainstorming, Claude for serious business work.
"Do I need Claude Pro?
"Not right away. Try the free version first. Upgrade if you hit usage limits. $20/month.
"Can I rebuild my custom GPTs in Claude?
"Kind of. Projects are similar (especially for internal bots) but not the same. I'm testing workarounds.
"What's Claude Cowork?"
Desktop app. Claude can access your computer to organize folders, rename files, move things around, build spreadsheets — hands-on automation. Included in Claude Pro. Wild.
💭 Final Thought
Switching tools won't fix anything if you don't set them up right.
If you're making the move or just want to start using Claude more, do it properly. Build your Master Prompt. Turn on the right features.
Just you, me, and AI

P.S. Drop a comment if this helped. Curious what you're switching to Claude for.
