Hey there,
A while ago I experimented with a game concept that could expand infinitely - basically an open-world builder where the map keeps growing as you explore it.
This little prototype is what came out of that idea:
The core concept is simple:
You start with a small piece of land and discover new tiles by expanding outward. Each tile becomes a resource field, and the challenge is to optimize your layout and economy while the world keeps growing.
Very rough gameplay loop:
• Expand the map by discovering adjacent tiles
• Combine identical fields to create stronger production zones
• Balance your resource economy (some fields require upkeep)
• Upgrade or reroll tiles to optimize your layout
The idea was to build a strategy system that could scale endlessly as the world grows.
It’s still just a small experimental prototype, but I always liked the core idea.
Curious what you think — especially about the infinite map concept.
