Most AI audits don’t fail because of technology. They fail because the auditor starts with tools instead of decisions.
An AI audit is not a checklist of automations. It is an investigation into how decisions are made, delayed, or avoided inside a business. If you cannot clearly answer these three questions, you are not auditing. You are guessing:
- Where does the business lose time because humans hesitate or hand off decisions?
- Which decisions are repeated with the same logic every day?
- What happens when the “right” decision is made too late?
If your audit framework does not surface decision bottlenecks first, any AI recommendation you give is accidental value, not designed value.
